이승현 (b. 1974)

이승현은 드로잉을 통해 이미지가 생성되고 의미를 획득하는 과정을 탐구하는 작가이다. 그는 이미지가 특정한 형상과 의미로 고착되기 이전의 ‘무명의 순간’에 주목하며, 의식과 무의식, 존재와 부재의 경계에서 출현하는 잠재적 형상의 가능성을 탐색해 왔다. 이를 바탕으로 기존의 조형적 질서와 인식의 구조 안에서 발생하는 변이의 가능성을 탐구하며, 이미지가 스스로 생성되고 변화하는 조건에 대한 작업을 이어가고 있다.

서울과학기술대학교 조형예술학과와 동대학원을 졸업했으며, 2004년 첫 개인전 이후 10회의 개인전과 다수의 단체전에 참여했다. 제8회 송은미술대상전 '우수상'과 제30회 중앙미술대전 선정작가에 선정되었으며, 작품은 국립현대미술관 미술은행, 제주도립미술관, 송은문화재단 등 주요 기관에 소장되어 있다.

Lee Seung-Hyun (b. 1974)

Lee Seung-Hyun explores the process through which images emerge and acquire meaning through drawing. He has focused on the “Nameless Moment” before an image becomes fixed into a specific form or meaning, investigating the potential of latent forms that emerge at the boundaries between consciousness and the unconscious, presence and absence. Based on this exploration, he examines the possibilities of transformation that arise within existing visual orders and structures of perception, continuing his practice of exploring the conditions through which images generate and transform themselves.

Lee Seung-Hyun graduated from the Department of Fine Arts and the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Seoul National University of Science and Technology. Since his first solo exhibition in 2004, he has held 10 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. He received the Excellence Award at the 8th SongEun Art Award Exhibition and was selected as an artist for the 30th JoongAng Fine Arts Competition. His works are held in major institutional collections, including the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Art Bank, Jeju Museum of Art, and SongEun Art and Cultural Foundation.
