2026년 8월 19일부터 10월 10일까지 송은에서는 역대 송은미술대상 수상 및 본선 진출 작가 179명이 참여하는 그룹전 《송은x언박싱 프로젝트: 생성적 형상들》을 개최합니다.

송은미술대상은 작가들의 지속 가능한 창작 환경을 조성하고 장기적인 예술 실천을 지원하기 위해 2001년 제정된 송은문화재단의 공모 프로그램으로, 이번 전시는 송은미술대상 25주년을 기념해 마련되었습니다.

전시는 지난 25년간 송은미술대상과 함께 성장해온 작가들의 예술적 여정을 동시대적 시점에서 재조명하고 다수의 작가를 유기적으로 아우르기 위해 '언박싱 프로젝트(UBP)'와의 협업으로 기획되었습니다. 2022년 시작된 언박싱 프로젝트는 주제에 따른 특정 형식의 틀이 담긴 박스를 작가에게 제공하고, 이를 바탕으로 신작을 커미션해온 전시 프로젝트입니다.

이번 전시에서는 '25주년'을 상징하는 물리적 틀로서 25x25cm 크기의 합판 네 장이 담긴 박스를 참여 작가들에게 전달하고 해당 재료들을 활용한 신작을 의뢰했습니다. 전시는 회화, 사진, 조각, 설치, 미디어 등으로 구성된 작품들을 통해 미술대상 참여 이후 각자의 작업 세계가 생성적으로 분기하고 변주되어 온 흐름을 되짚어봅니다.

전시 기간 중 8월 19일부터 9월 12일까지는 한국, 스위스, 스페인의 무용가와 음악가들이 협업으로 선보이는 다원예술 프로젝트 《MINOTAURUS (The Minotaur’s Drum)》이 지하 2층 원형 공간을 중심으로 전시장 전반에 걸쳐 펼쳐집니다. 정해진 형식 안에서 각기 다른 가능성을 만들어내는 전시의 구조는 문학과 음악, 퍼포먼스가 교차하는 이 프로젝트의 방식과 공명하며 장르와 형식을 넘어 새로운 관객과 만나는 계기를 마련합니다.

송은과 함께 성장해온 작가들의 예술적 여정과 현재를 한자리에 조망하는 전시 《송은x언박싱 프로젝트: 생성적 형상들》, 그리고 움직임의 감각으로 전시를 다시 읽어내는 퍼포먼스 《MINOTAURUS (The Minotaur’s Drum)》에 많은 관심과 방문 부탁드립니다.

[Exhibition Overview & Text]

SONGEUN is pleased to present SONGEUN x Unboxing Project: Generative Forms, on view from August 19 through October 10, 2026. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the SONGEUN Art Award, the exhibition brings together 179 past winners and finalists of the Award, established in 2001 to support the long-term development of artists’ practices.

Organized in collaboration with Unboxing Project (UBP), the exhibition reflects on the evolving practices of artists whose careers have grown alongside the Award. Each participating artist was invited to create a new work using four 25 x 25 cm plywood panels, marking the Award’s 25th anniversary. Spanning painting, photography, sculpture, installation, and media art, the exhibition offers a compelling snapshot of contemporary artistic practice across generations.

As a special exhibition program, MINOTAURUS (The Minotaur’s Drum) will be presented from August 19 to September 12. This interdisciplinary collaboration by dancers and musicians from Korea, Switzerland, and Spain will activate SONGEUN’s exhibition spaces through music, dance and performance, extending the exhibition’s exploration of creative dialogue across artistic disciplines.

There is no public parking, so please kindly plan accordingly. Guests with mobility assistance are requested to contact us in advance.

Opening The exhibition will be open to the public from 4pm on August 19th. Please note that no opening reception will be held.
